Engineering Progress: Celebrating INWED 2025 and Supporting Women in Industry
On June 23rd, International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) returns for its 12th year. Organised by the Women’s Engineering Society (WES) and supported by Engineering UK, this global initiative highlights the achievements of women engineers and promotes a more inclusive and collaborative future for the profession.
At Listgrove Ltd, we support organisations across the plastics, packaging, chemical, and sustainability sectors. Through our work, we continue to see the growing impact of women in engineering roles, from design and manufacturing to sustainability leadership and technical innovation.
There is positive momentum. According to UNESCO, women now represent approximately 28% of the global science and engineering workforce, with participation steadily increasing in many regions. While there is still progress to be made, more women than ever are entering engineering programmes and moving into influential technical and leadership positions.
This year’s INWED theme, #TogetherWeEngineer, resonates strongly with the wider industry conversation — particularly at K – The World's No.1 Trade Fair for Plastics and Rubber, where Listgrove will once again be exhibiting. One of this year’s key themes at K is Women in Plastics, a timely and important focus on increasing visibility, support, and opportunity for female professionals in the sector.
As a recruitment partner, we recognise the role we play in supporting companies to attract and retain diverse talent. We are committed to helping build teams that reflect the future of the industry, inclusive, skilled and forward-looking.
By celebrating INWED and supporting initiatives like Women in Plastics at K2025, we are not just recognising achievements… we’re helping to shape lasting change.
