Senior Elastomeric Foam Technologist / Process Engineer

 

Fixed Term Contract Position (c. 6-8 months)

 

Remote location with travel to China & Ukraine

Project Overview:

 

Launch of a new industrial production facility for closed-cell elastomeric insulation foam sheets and tubes based on NBR/PVC rubber systems. 

The project includes: 

· Mixing section

· Extrusion line

· Continuous vulcanization and foaming ovens

· Downstream finishing operations.

 

 

Core Responsibilities:

 

· Consulting on the selection and optimization of the complete elastomeric foam production line and auxiliary equipment 

· Development and optimization of rubber foam compound formulations 

· Selection and qualifications of raw material suppliers 

· Support during factory acceptance test (FAT) in China 

· Supervision of installation and commissioning in Ukraine 

· Adjustment of process parameters: mixing, extrusion, foaming, vulcanization, oven profiles, density and dimensional stability 

· Achieving target: productivity, density, closed-cell structure, thermal insulation properties, dimensional tolerances 

· Troubleshooting during production ramp-up 

· Training of local technical and production personnel Ongoing technical support if required

 

 

Qualifications Needed:

 

5+ years of practical experience in elastomeric rubber foam production

Strong experience with: 

· NBR/PVC foam systems

· Extrusion

· continuous vulcanization

· high-temperature oven processes 

 

Practical experience in formulation development and process optimization 

Experience in production line start-up and commissioning Strong troubleshooting skills in foam production processes 

Experience in insulation foam sheets and/or tubes production is preferred

 

 

Additional Advantages:

 

· Experience in yield optimization and scrap reduction 

· Experience in scaling production capacity
