The Role:
- Reporting to the CCO, in this role you’ll be responsible for:
- Creating and executing digital marketing strategies to boost brand visibility, drive website traffic and convert leads into customers across multiple digital channels and geographies. Understanding the customer journey on our platform and guiding the developments on our website, being the architect of improvements.
- Understanding the customer journey on the different platforms in the EU to maximise visibility and sales through these platforms.
- Leading, motivating and managing the performance of the Marketing Team
- The role will involve working collaboratively with other departments, in particular the Sales Managers and Outbound Sales teams in the UK and EU to manage (i) campaign execution and (ii) enhancement of the interactions between IMS and its customers across various touch points in the customer lifecycle - from initial awareness to post-purchase interactions, to build customer loyalty, encourage repeat business, and foster positive word-of-mouth recommendations.
- You will also oversee all marketing activities within the organisation and be responsible for developing brand strategy, managing budgets, setting goals, monitoring the success of campaigns and ensuring consistent brand messaging across various marketing and digital channels.
Your Key Objectives in this role will include:
- Increasing the size of the pipeline for the sales team to follow up on – from identifying potential clinic customers through to qualified leads and ultimately to an active customer.
- Accelerating the speed that customers move through the pipeline by delivering the right messaging in the most effective ways
Marketing:
- Marketing Strategy – Identifying and planning for which channels, in which countries we will focus on at any given time, how much spend is needed for each, what messaging we will aim to deliver, how we will measure success (including intermediate performance – like ‘click throughs’).
- Managing Specific Channels
- 3rd party digital channels, including buying platforms – Develop, implement & optimise content for digital marketing including planning, executing and managing marketing and advertising campaigns across various digital platforms to grow online presence, drive brand awareness, interest and sales, by attracting and engaging target audiences & acquiring new customers.
- IMS Website & Social Media Feeds - Oversee social media marketing planning and execution to build and maintain a strong presence on various social media platforms, creating engaging content and running social media advertising campaigns.
- Email Marketing – Develop and execute email marketing campaigns to nurture leads, promote products and communicate with customers.
Sales Collateral & Events:
- Content Marketing – Work with the sales teams to co-develop and implement valuable, relevant, high impact content and consistent marketing content to go across various digital channels.
- Track and analyse the performance of messaging and content of digital marketing efforts, using various tools and metrics such as Google Analytics, website traffic etc. Analyse conversion rates, identify opportunities to improve results, and optimise content to generate greater sales revenue for the business.
- Routinely share strategies, progress, results, learnings, and relevant industry trends, with the Sales & Marketing Director, SLT, SMT, & wider teams where appropriate.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, best practices in the digital marketing landscape to keep the company's offering competitive and identify new opportunities for business growth.
- Prepare and manage annual budgets for the Marketing Department (both UK & EU).
Customer Experience Journey:
- Plan and oversee different marketing activities relating to the 5 stages of the Customer Experience Journey.
- Understand customer needs, expectations and perceptions with the goal of facilitating effective communication channels between customers and the company, fostering positive experiences that build loyalty.
- Map and analyse the customer journey, customer behaviours and customer personas to identify areas for improvement and innovation along this journey.
- Analyse and leverage insights from customer feedback, data analytics, the OB sales reporting funnel (and market trends) to inform marketing strategies that improve sales success.
- Gather and analyse customer feedback from various other channels (surveys, focus groups, social media analytics) and service data to understand customer needs, preferences, pain points and trends to inform marketing strategy.
Marketing Team:
- In this role, you will also be accountable for the performance of the Marketing Team in growing sales performance above the organic baseline level of existing account growth set by the Sales & Marketing Director.
- This requires the translation of IMS’s sales ambition into stretching individual monthly, quarterly and annual activity-related KPIs & campaign targets, the monitoring and analysing of their performance against these KPIs/targets and when necessary, working with them to adapt if the necessary level of performance is not achieved.
This will involve:
- The development & execution of the marketing strategy for each of our markets and the veterinary customer groups within them.
- The development of a high-performance team with a customer-centric culture in which individuals are fully bought into their KPIs/Targets through a philosophy of ownership, continuous improvement and personal accountability
- The holding of regular 1-1’s and team review meetings to identify opportunities for performance improvements.
- Delivery of individual and team training and coaching and mentoring as required.
- Promoting and embedding strong and inspirational leadership to the entire team by demonstrating the company’s values and championing the leadership behaviour framework.
Required Skills and Qualities:
- Degree Educated
- Proven Experience in a Digital Marketing Role & Digital Marketing Knowledge – Understanding various digital marketing channels, tools and strategies. Familiarity with eCommerce platforms.
- Entrepreneurial Drive – Motivated to create, innovate and achieve with ambition, determination, a willingness to take risks, and the tenacity to overcome obstacles and drive progress
- Strong Analytical Skills – Has an eye for detail and data driven decision making and is able to construct concise and accurate reports as required. Ability to analyse data, track performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Creative Skills – Developing engaging content, designing effective and campaigns and creating visually appealing marketing materials. Vigorously question the status quo and stimulate progress by taking the lead with new ideas.
- Technical Skills – Familiarity with website analytic tools, social media platforms and other digital marketing technologies.
- Communication Skills – Effectively communicating with team members, clients and target audiences.
- Situational Leadership – able to take the initiative, lead and motivate teams under, at time, pressurised situations, though a positive mindset and “can do” attitude.
- Working Relationships - able to develop strong collaborative working relationships with key colleagues throughout the business.
- Strategic Planning – able to plan (as well as react) to stay ahead of the game and to manage cross functional initiatives into actionable strategies that resonate across different departments.
- Customer Focus – has a deep understanding of customer psychology. Is the advocate for the customer and always works to ensure the ‘customer is king’ and is at the centre of yours and the team’s work.
- Expert Knowledge – learn and apply best practice and develop an in depth understanding of the competitive market environment – main competitors and their strengths / weaknesses, market size and opportunity, trends in buying – to constantly challenge, improve and increase IMS market share.
