Medical/Healthcare – plastics industry

The Company:

We proud to be retained by one of France’s leading polymer distributors - to appoint an experienced and highly driven commercial professional with extensive knowledge of the plastic medical/healthcare injection molding market. This could come from working with an OEM that produces products for the sector or for an injection molding manufacturer that specialises in the medical/healthcare segment.

The company is a successful subsidiary of a major European plastics distributor that has long standing and well developed relationships with prominent producers. You will be working with one of the largest and most renowned producers of high performance polymers as a principal partner.

 

The Role:

  • Develop new applications with medical/healthcare customers to build a development pipeline and generate future revenue
  • Drive and implement market segment strategies in the field of responsibility
  • Active sales engagement on customers which do have a clear segment focus, and which have potential for developments, including identifying and reaching out to new customers and building long-term customer relationships
  • Provide continuous technical and commercial service for existing customers, focusing on maintaining and expanding the running business
  • Initiate developments and promote the segment specific offering
  • Participate in industry fairs, conferences and other relevant events to represent the company and stay updated on market trends and competitor activities
  • Identify market trends and develop new business opportunities along the value chain within the medical/healthcare market segment
  • Collect and report valuable customer insights, such as organization of the customer, decision makers, consumption data, applications, competition, customers of the customers and if the customer belongs to an international group
  • Work closely with the Product Manager to develop a comprehensive product portfolio for the segment and identifying products for addition
  • Work closely with Product Marketing to effectively position products for the defined market segment

 

The Person:

  • Ideally university degree in plastic, mechanical engineering, processing or related technical field
  • Several years of professional experience in sales, business development, product management or a comparable position
  • In-depth industry knowledge of the medical/healthcare segment
  • Strong understanding of segment requirements (technical aspects, legal requirements, regulatory) preferable
  • Business fluent English skills
  • MS-Office, CRM and Project Management tools know-how
