Polymer Distribution/Trading

Based in Dubai

Travel requirements: Minimum 20% of time.

Salary: Base Salary + % P&L

 

The Company:

RAI International is a successful, reputable and growing polymer distributor with representation across global markets.  With more than 30 years since its establishment, this polymer distributor has an extensive network with 20+ offices around the world. In its markets, RAI represents, on an exclusive basis, some of the largest and most internationally reputed producers. Highly ambitious to further develop its footprint by building on excellent producer relationships and expanding portfolio of suppliers.  The company is currently engaged in negotiations for off-take contracts with several producers that will greatly expand its turnover volume. They are looking for a CCO with the experience to expand their infrastructure to accommodate this growth. Family oriented with excellent support network and autonomy to make a difference.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the commercial performance by the company in all of its territories.
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive global sales strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives. Forecast and manage sales pipeline and revenue generation.
  • Team Management: Build, lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing global sales team, including hiring, training, performance management, and career development.
  • Sales Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve the sales process, implementing best practices and leveraging sales technology to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversee sales operations including forecasting, reporting, and analytics.
  • Revenue Generation: Drive revenue growth by identifying and developing new business opportunities, expanding existing accounts, and penetrating new markets.
  • Achieve and exceed annual sales targets.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats.
  • Develop strategies to capitalize on market opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and strategic partners.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Provide regular sales reports and performance updates to senior management, including key metrics, sales forecasts, etc.
  • Establishing sales targets for their team and monitor progress towards achieving them.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to drive business growth.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs, to identify opportunities for new business.
  • Monitor and manage budgets related to sales activities and initiatives.
  • Represent the company at global trade shows, conferences, and events to network and generate leads.

 

Experience:

  • Prior experience in a global polymer trading or distribution company.
  • Minimum of 12 years total Marketing/Sales Experience in polymer commodities
  • Currently serving as a Global Director or Senior VP position
  • Experience managing Commercial Operations on a regional or global basis.
  • Main material focus is polypropylene and polyethylene, although will be responsible for other product P&Ls as well.
  • Currently responsible for sales of at least 250 ktes of polyolefins.
  • Prior commercial experience in Southern Hemisphere Markets: LATAM, Africa, ME or Indian Subcontinent
  • Experience working in an internationally diverse environment with many nationalities and cultures.

 

Qualifications:

  • MBA preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and other sales tools.
  • International business experience and cultural sensitivity.
  • Languages: Fluent in English. Bonus languages are French, Spanish and Arabic.
  • Gregarious and personable personality.
