Client Overview:

Our client is a Global Leader of specialist technical adhesives and polymers, for the automotive industry, including, foam and thermoplastic watershields, die-cut pieces and joints, roof sheet metal stiffening parts, technical labels, decorative parts, adhesive solutions and damping materials.

Role Overview:

The business is currently looking to recruit a Key Account Manager, who will be responsible for the development of new and existing businesses in Germany. This role will be focused on maintaining strong relationships, at all levels with OEM's and Tier 1 suppliers, understanding their needs and selling the company's tailor-made products.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the sales manager in charge of the development of the German market, the incumbent will be the main contact for the clients' technical teams on their sites.
  • Responsible for developing the client’s product portfolio, alongside customers, including manufacturers and equipment suppliers. The candidate will be in direct contact with customers (design office, purchasing department, production and assembly) to promote products, identify opportunities, obtain specifications and pass on all useful information to the business.
  • Allongside the Sales Manager, ensure good communication, with the technical teams, across the different European sites (France, Slovakia, and Spain).
  • Coordinate product development projects, with the development department and liaise with the customer until the products are launched in series.
  • Responsible for the proposal with the customer but also managing team relationships to succeed in the development of new products.

Candidate Profile: 

  • Experienced in selling technical and complex products in B2B environment.
  • Work experience in a technical-sales function, in an industrial environment, in connection with German car manufacturers.
  • Higher technical diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, the right mix of diplomacy and directness, fluent in German and English.
