R&D Project Manager

Location: Costa Rica

For over 50 years our client has manufactured and supplied coated fabrics to a range of industries, using their market and design expertise they are able to provide unique manufacturing capabilities to their customers all over the world. 

Direct, coordinate and develop new calender products for different markets and uses in different locations.

• This will include the final finish based on technical, market, economic and process analyses.
• Delivering a quality product according to specifications and standards requested by the customer.

Responsibilities:

• Be the technical calendering expert in the room when supporting the business.
• Provide technical expertise and leadership to the R&D team.
• Design of Experiments (trial tests and correlations).
• Developing, managing, and maintaining project plans and budgets, and reporting out of these to both external and internal stakeholders. 

Candidate Profile:

• Degree educated in materials or a chemical function.
• Expert knowledge in the calendering process (knowing the entire process from design, material, polymer to finishing).
• Extensive knowledge of associated materials, ie. Polymers.
• Understanding of the operational side of a manufacturing business including financial and quality control.
• Professional level of English.
