Product Engineer - Plant Application

Listgrove has been retained to support a global manufacturer of specialist paper products that are used in everyday life.

As Part of their ongoing growth plans they are looking to recruit a talented Product Engineer to be part of a Development Team consisting of a Product Engineer Co-ordinator, 2 Product Engineers and a Print Design & Specification Specialist. The successful candidate will connect with R&D colleagues from the various manufacturing sites and with the sales team.

The Role:

· To provide the input for calculating the cost price of the product to be developed.
· Ensuring the balance between quality and costs is managed when developing a new product.
· Manage product qualifications and modifications, both internally and externally on site at customers and/or institutes.
· Support Production department by providing essential information and contribute to process improvements and in turn the avoid customer complaints.
· Supervise trials with colleagues from the Production department and tests at the Quality Laboratory.
· Act as the technical link between the internal colleagues, customers and suppliers.
· Enthusiastic about technical innovations and understand how to implement them at the Company.
· 20% travel is expected and mainly to Customer sites to build relationships and develop product knowledge.
· Lead, define and execute milestones and enjoy working in a team to successfully complete a project and put the results into practice.
· Ensuring high data quality in SAP: administrative tasks such as accurate and correct entry of data are also a key part of this role.

Candidate Profile:

· Higher Vocational Education on Chemistry and/or Paper Technology
· Knowledge of/interest in paper and polymers preferred.
· A curious mindset and a thirst to develop knowledge.
· Independent, forward-thinking and enterprising individual who self manages.
· Experienced in working in a project focused environment.
· Communicative at all levels ranging from contact with local colleagues to Sales and R&D colleagues, management and customers.
· Ability to combine technical insight with the commercial aspects of this role.
· Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing, preferably willingness to learn Dutch.
· Knowledge and experience with PC programs in Windows.
· Knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
