Listgrove has been retained by a key player in the European food packaging sector, to recruit an experienced Accountant.  This is an exciting opportunity, where the successful candidate will be joining a team that will be responsible for the growth of this division, within a family-owned business.  If you have an interest in diverse projects and change management, as well as the human aspect of your function, this job is for you.

Under the supervision of the German Country Manager and in conjunction with the financial group team, the incumbent will be the Company Accountant, managing relationships with internal stakeholders, banks, auditors and professional bodies.  The candidate will be responsible for general fiscal management of the Company and the preparation of the monthly group reporting.

Responsibilites:

• Implementation and management of new finance projects, such as a new ERP system to improve flows, structure and make financial data more reliable.
• The accounting of customer payments and the follow-up of cash collection.
• Management and preparation of all invoices.
• Payments to all suppliers.
• Preparation and payment of salaries.
• Managing all month and year end postings, in line with agreed cut off dates.
• The preparation of the monthly group reporting.
• Management of all cash and treasury resources.

Candidate Profile:

• An accounting education and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position, ideally in an international manufacturing environment.
• Proven background in evaluating accounting and internal control methods and financial reports.
• A "hands on" mentality, with the ability to work and communicate on a local and global basis.
• Experienced in solving financial issues, by making consistent recommendations, based on your knowledge and experience in finance.
• Proactive and flexible with a well-honed analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills with a broad understanding of operational matters.
• German and fluent English.
