The Role:
Pact Packaging Australia is seeking an experienced and commercially driven General Manager – Health, Personal Care & Food to lead a strategically important business segment across manufacturing, commercial performance and customer engagement.
This is a high-profile leadership opportunity with full P&L accountability, responsible for driving operational excellence, commercial growth and market leadership across a dynamic and fast-moving manufacturing environment.
Working as part of the Senior Leadership Team, the successful candidate will lead the execution of business strategy while developing strong customer partnerships, building high-performing teams and delivering sustainable long-term growth.
The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on operational and commercial influence, offering the opportunity to shape the future direction of a market-leading packaging business operating at the forefront of sustainability and circular economy innovation.
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Responsibilities:
Lead the overall performance of the Health, Personal Care & Food segment with full P&L accountability
Develop and execute strategic business plans aligned to growth, profitability and operational excellence objectives
Drive commercial performance, customer engagement and market expansion initiatives
Lead end-to-end manufacturing operations, ensuring high standards across safety, quality, service and productivity
Champion continuous improvement initiatives including lean manufacturing, automation and digital transformation
Build strong relationships with key customers, suppliers and strategic stakeholders
Oversee supply chain operations including procurement, logistics, inventory and warehousing performance
Drive sustainability initiatives including recycled materials, product stewardship and circular economy programs
Develop and mentor high-performing leadership teams while fostering a collaborative and accountable culture
The Candidate:
We are seeking a commercially astute senior leader with a strong operational background and the ability to lead complex manufacturing and customer-focused businesses.
Significant senior leadership experience within manufacturing, industrial or packaging environments
Strong commercial capability with proven P&L leadership experience
Experience in plastics manufacturing, injection moulding, blow moulding or related industries highly regarded
A track record of delivering operational excellence and sustainable business growth
Strong customer engagement and relationship management capability
Experience leading large operational and cross-functional teams
Strong supply chain and distribution understanding
The ability to drive cultural change, accountability and continuous improvement
Degree qualifications in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business or a related discipline
