Reporting to the Development Manager (Devices) you will generate detailed product design mechanisms and individual component parts, suitable for high volume manufacture.
You will create new design solutions, utilising an extensive knowledge of 3D CAD (preferably Unigraphics). Working within highly regulated and compliant industry sectors, you will be required to undertake design risk analysis, test products and produce technical reports to verify the product design.

Description  Reporting to the Programme Development Manager you will be responsible for the successful management of all current and new products and Designs through a small team of Design Engineers. Utilising your strong logical approach to technical issues you'll use current and introduce new management process techniques and product improvements through software packages to ensure that the company remains ahead of its competitors in meeting the needs of its customers, which include Nissan, Ford, Land Rover, Jaguar, BMW, General Motors and MG Rover.

Person Specification:

The successful candidate will ideally be:
Degree calibre engineer with senior level experience that has been gained in the automotive supply industry.
Proven technical engineering skills.
Experience in plastic processing environment would be preferred.
Strong people management skills.
Good communication & organisational skills.
An innovative forward thinking approach to project management is a must.
